Microsoft Enterprise Open Source

Yes! Your eyes are ok. I did write, in the title of this post, â€œMicrosoft Enterprise Open Sourceâ€!!! I came across this companyâ€™s site, where they believe they have an Open Source solution.
I confess, I didnâ€™t have much research on that thing, but I found this :

Aras InnovatorÂ® enterprise open source software solutions deploy quickly and adapt easily while maintaining upgradeability resulting in a significantly lower Total Cost of Ownership than conventional enterprise systems.

Note the use of â€œopen sourceâ€ in their statement. I gone through the site trying to figure out in which licence they are releasing their enterprise software. Unfortunately, I couldnâ€™t find any more reference to open source that the one in the front page and the one I cited above.

I did also have a look at their forum, where they have a total of 21 posts in a total of 12 threads (although the statistics of the forum point to 24 threads and 28 posts)

Itâ€™s harder to get a good community for any open source project, but being built on Microsoft technology, I think its get harder, even impossible. Letâ€™s seeâ€¦

The problem is that almost every pro-OSS developers find best practices when using other tools than MS ones. MS hasn’t a good image on “this” side of things so it may take a while, if ever, for them to catch up the train

I’m not talking about most of the engineers working there but all of those who make Microsoft a giant with just one leg, which gets it [Microsoft] behind almost every competitor!

Ofc I’m talking about the people who actually make decisions, instead of those who put them to work.

Could you imagine a company like Microsoft [money, size, etc] adopting principles like the ones followed so far by Google? Good god, Microsoft would be as loved as Google is, and their products would follow the same way. It’s not late but time is shortening..
